How to Use Trading Plan Generator
- 1Describe your profile: experience, goals, how much time you have, and your attitude to risk. Be honest rather than aspirational.
- 2Pick a trading style — Swing, Day, Position, Scalping or Options — and the markets you trade: Stocks, Forex, Crypto, Futures or Options.
- 3Enter your account size.
- 4Click 'Generate Trading Plan'.
- 5Treat the output as a template to adapt. The risk parameters in particular need to be numbers you have chosen and can actually hold to.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is this a plan I can trade from as generated?
No. It produces a plan template with the sections a trading plan should have. The specific rules — entry criteria, position sizing, stop placement — must be ones you have tested and can follow under pressure, not ones a tool suggested.
Why does a written plan matter?
Because decisions made during a drawdown are worse than decisions made in advance, and a written plan is what you argue against when you want to widen a stop or add to a loser. Its value is entirely in being written before the trade, not during it.
Should I trade the style it suggests?
Only if it genuinely fits your life. Day trading requires hours of screen time most people with jobs do not have, and the mismatch between chosen style and available attention is a common cause of poor results.
Does it set my risk per trade?
It will suggest conventional figures. Those are starting points to be examined, not numbers to adopt. Risk parameters should follow from what you can actually afford to lose and the drawdown you can psychologically sustain.
Is trading suitable for me?
That is a question this tool cannot answer and should not be read as answering. Most retail traders lose money — many brokers are required to publish exactly what proportion, and the figures are sobering. Nothing here is financial advice or an encouragement to trade. Consider advice from a regulated professional, and never risk money you cannot afford to lose.
About Trading Plan Generator
The Trading Plan Generator produces a structured trading plan template from your stated profile, style, markets and account size.
A written plan matters for one reason: the decisions that damage accounts are made in the moment — widening a stop, adding to a losing position, doubling size after a loss — and the only effective counterweight is a rule written down when you were calm. The plan's value is in existing beforehand, not in its wording.
What the tool provides is the structure and the prompts: the sections a plan needs, including the ones people omit, like what constitutes a valid setup and what you will do after a losing streak. What it cannot provide is the content, because rules you have not tested and cannot follow are worse than none.
Be clear-eyed about the context. Most retail traders lose money, and brokers in many jurisdictions are required to publish that proportion. Nothing here is financial advice or encouragement to trade, and none of it is personalised to your circumstances. Consider advice from a regulated professional, and never risk money you cannot afford to lose. Your input goes to our own AI server over HTTPS, is used once, and is never stored or used for training. If our server is down, a backup AI provider may handle the request under its own data policy.
