How fancy text works, and when not to use it
These styles aren't fonts. Each letter is swapped for a look-alike character from Unicode: the Mathematical Alphanumeric Symbols block for bold, italic, bold italic, script, double-struck, Fraktur and monospace, and phonetic letters for small caps. Because they're ordinary characters, they paste into places that don't let you choose a font, such as an Instagram or TikTok bio, a Discord name, a WhatsApp status or an X profile.
That trick has costs. Screen readers often read each styled letter out as a mathematical symbol, or skip it, so a whole post in fancy text can be unreadable for blind and partially sighted people. Search engines and in-app search may not match it to normal words, and older phones can show missing characters as boxes. Use it for a name or a few words of emphasis, and keep important information in plain text.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why does fancy text work in social media bios?
These are actual Unicode characters from the Mathematical Alphanumeric Symbols block, not fonts. Any app that renders Unicode text will display them.
Will the text be searchable?
Partially: search engines may not index fancy Unicode characters the same way as regular letters. Use standard text for SEO-important content.
Do all characters get transformed?
Only standard A–Z and a–z letters are mapped. Numbers, punctuation, and spaces pass through unchanged.
Is fancy text accessible?
Not very. Screen readers may announce each letter as something like 'mathematical bold capital A', or skip it entirely. Use it for a few decorative words, not for whole posts, links or anything people need to read.
Why do some letters look different in small caps?
Unicode has no small-capital x, so x stays a normal lower-case letter, and q uses the closest look-alike. Numbers and punctuation pass through unchanged in every style.
About Fancy Text Generator
Fancy text uses characters from the Unicode Mathematical Alphanumeric Symbols block to create stylised text that looks like different fonts. Unlike actual custom fonts, these characters work in any text field: Instagram bios, Twitter profiles, WhatsApp messages, and more.
