Frequently Asked Questions
Can this write findings I have not evidenced?
It can produce plausible ones, and that is the risk to guard against. Every finding in an audit report must trace to a working paper. Delete anything the tool has added that you cannot evidence — an unsupported finding undermines the whole report and the auditor who signed it.
Why is there a prior period section?
Because whether last year's findings were actually remediated is often the most informative part of an audit report, and it is the section most often left out. Reporting that three of five prior recommendations remain open says more than any single new finding.
What are positive observations for?
Reports that contain only failures get read defensively and acted on less. Noting what works is not padding — it improves the reception of the findings that matter and is standard practice in internal audit.
Is this suitable for a statutory audit?
Only for drafting the management letter, and only within your firm's methodology and review process. Statutory audit documentation is governed by auditing standards and subject to regulatory inspection. This does not know your methodology.
Should I enter client details?
Keep identities out and describe findings generically while drafting. Audit findings are confidential and often price-sensitive, and your firm almost certainly has a policy on third-party AI tools.
About Audit Findings Report
The Audit Findings Report generator produces a structured report — scope, objectives and methodology, findings, a status update on prior period findings, positive observations, and an overall conclusion — for four report types.
Two structural sections do disproportionate work. The prior period status update turns a report from a snapshot into a trend, and 'three of five prior recommendations remain open' is a finding in itself that most reports omit. Positive observations, meanwhile, are what stop the report being read defensively, which measurably affects whether recommendations get implemented.
The hard rule is traceability. Every finding must tie back to a working paper, and a generated report will offer plausible findings you did not make. Read the draft specifically hunting for anything you cannot evidence and delete it — an unsupported finding discredits the supported ones alongside it.
For statutory work this is a drafting aid for the management letter inside your firm's methodology, not a substitute for it: audit documentation is governed by standards and subject to inspection. Keep client identities out of the input. Your text goes to our own AI server over HTTPS, is used once, and is never stored or used for training.
