How do I calculate a discount?

How do I calculate percentage increase?
Use the 'Percentage change' calculator. Enter the original value in 'From' and the new value in 'To'. A positive result means an increase; a negative result means a decrease. For example, from 100 to 125 gives +25%.
How do I find what percentage one number is of another?
Use 'X is what % of Y?'. For example, to find what percentage 25 is of 200, enter X=25 and Y=200. The result is 12.5%.
How do I calculate a tax-inclusive price?
Use 'Increase by %'. Enter the base price in Value and the tax rate in %. The result shows the total price including tax. For example, a $100 item with 8% tax costs $108.
How do I find the whole when I know a part and its percentage?
Use 'X is Y% of what?'. If 20 is 25% of a number, enter X=20 and Y=25: the answer is 20 ÷ 0.25 = 80. It's how you find a full price from a deposit, or a total from one share of it.
What's the difference between percentage change and percentage difference?
Percentage change measures from a starting value: 10 to 20 is +100%, and 20 to 10 is −50%. Percentage difference compares two values with neither as the base: |A − B| ÷ their average. 10 and 20 differ by 10 ÷ 15 = 66.67%, whichever way round you enter them.
