How to Use PDF Watermark
- 1Drop one PDF or several into the upload area.
- 2Choose a text watermark and type it, in any language, in one of four fonts; or choose 'Image or logo' and pick a PNG or JPG.
- 3Set the size (or the image's width as a share of the page), opacity, angle and colour, and pick a position on the 3 × 3 grid, tick 'Repeat across the page', or drag the watermark on the preview to put it exactly where you want (or type its position from the left and top).
- 4Watch the preview of page 1, choose all pages or (with one PDF) just some, and click 'Add watermark'. Several PDFs download together as a ZIP.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I write the watermark in Urdu, Arabic or Hindi?
Yes. Latin text is added as real PDF text. Other scripts are drawn by your browser, so letters join and combine correctly, and added as a transparent image that looks the same.
Can I use my logo as a watermark?
Yes. Choose 'Image or logo' and pick a PNG or JPG. A PNG with a transparent background works best. Set its width as a percentage of the page, the opacity and angle, and place it on the grid or repeat it across the page. Each page gets the image at the same share of its width, so it scales with mixed page sizes.
Can I watermark only some pages?
Yes. Choose 'Choose pages' and type them, e.g. '1, 3-5'.
Can I put the watermark in an exact spot?
Yes. Drag it on the preview, nudge it with the arrow keys, or tick 'Exact position' and type where its centre goes as a percentage from the left and from the top of the page. The same spot is used on every page, scaled to each page's size.
Can I watermark several PDFs at once?
Yes. Drop them in together or add more with '+ Add more PDFs'. Every page of each gets the same watermark, and they download as one ZIP with '-watermarked' added to each name.
Will it be centred on rotated or cropped pages?
Yes. Position is worked out from the visible part of each page and the way it is rotated, so the watermark lands where the preview shows it.
Can the watermark be removed?
It's drawn into each page's content, so it can't be switched off in a PDF viewer. Determined people with editing software can remove most watermarks, so don't rely on one as security.
Can I watermark a password-protected PDF?
Not directly. A password-protected PDF is encrypted, and the tool tells you so instead of producing a broken file. Open it in your PDF viewer with the password, use Print → Save as PDF to make an unprotected copy, and use that.
