Frequently Asked Questions
Will my formatting survive?
Most of it. Headings become real Word headings (so the navigation pane and table of contents work), paragraphs are rebuilt rather than broken into single lines, and bold, italic, underline, fonts and sizes carry over. Bulleted and numbered lists become Word lists, tables become Word tables, and pictures, links and page breaks are kept.
Can it convert scanned PDFs?
Yes. Pages that are pictures of text are read with OCR in your browser, including Urdu, Arabic, Hindi and Chinese. Pages that already have text are copied exactly and not OCR'd.
Does it work with Urdu and Arabic?
Yes. Right-to-left paragraphs are marked as right-to-left in Word, and the special display forms PDFs often store Arabic-script letters in are turned back into ordinary letters, so the text can be searched and spell-checked.
What about two-column layouts?
Columns are detected and their text is put in reading order: the whole left column, then the right, instead of lines from both columns mixed together.
Is my file uploaded?
No. The conversion runs entirely in your browser, with no page limit and no upload.
What doesn't convert perfectly?
Very complex layouts such as magazine spreads, forms drawn with many boxes, or text placed freely around pictures may need small touch-ups after opening. Password-protected PDFs need the password removed first.
About PDF to Word
PDF to Word turns a PDF back into an editable Word document. Instead of dumping each line as its own paragraph, it rebuilds the document's structure from the page: paragraphs from line spacing and indents, headings from font size and weight, lists from bullet marks and numbering, tables from their borders or column alignment, and two-column text in reading order.
Fonts, sizes, bold, italic and underline carry over, pictures are copied in at their size, links stay clickable, and each PDF page can start a new page in Word. Scanned pages are read with OCR (Tesseract, running on your device) in English, Urdu, Arabic, Hindi and other languages.
Everything happens in your browser, so contracts, CVs and statements never leave your device, and there is no page limit. The result opens in Microsoft Word, Google Docs, LibreOffice and Pages.
